Sonoran Ranch by KB Home is one of a few select ultra-affordable new home neighborhoods in the Tucson region. Homes by KB in Sonoran Ranch offer two different series of homes. These two series are labeled the 30-ft series and the 50-ft series, which is a description of how wide the homes are. In the 30-ft series, the homes start with as little as a 961 square foot, 2-bedroom, 1-2 bath with a one-car garage up to a 1,417 square foot 4-bedroom, 1-2 bat,h single story home. All of the 30-ft series homes come with a 1 car garage included in the base price.
The 50-ft series also being built by KB Home in Sonoran Ranch on Tucson's southwest side allows for new home buyers to get slightly larger homes (both one- and two-story). These homes all offer a two-car garage included in the base price. The homes in the 50-ft series start with a 1,250 square foot, 3-bedroom, 2-bath, single story home all the way up to a 2,222 square foot, 4-bedroom, 2-2.5 bath, with loft and 2-car garage, 2-story home.
KB Home is building now in Tucson what they market as "The Open Series" across the markets that they build. What this marketing pitch is designed to do is explain to buyers that when you buy a KB Home, you get to select all the items and features within your home. Each "option" has a cost in addition to the price of the home. The benefit is that buyers gets all the features they want in their home without paying for those items they do not need or want, allowing them to buy more home for the money. The down side is that there are many options to pick from and it can be confusing as to why a builder wouldn't include certain items. However, at the end of the day, the "Open Series" concept does exactly what it promises, which is to allow the buyer of the home to make the choice of what is included, not the builder.
